Melissa Payton, soprano, graduated from Missouri Baptist University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance.  While at MBU, she studied with Pat Lacey and was a winner in the local NATS vocal competition.  She also received the Outstanding Achievement in Voice award given to graduating seniors at MBU in 2003. She sang with the St. Louis Symphony Chorus for two seasons and spent the summer of 2003 at Inspiration Point Fine Arts Colony in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.  She also attended the Black Hills Summer Arts Institute in the summer of 2004.  Melissa currently sings with the Bach Society of St. Louis as their Soprano Young Artist, a coveted position she has held for the past five seasons.  She is currently the Music Director at Fellowship of Weldon Spring Church and maintains a voice studio at Mozingo Music Store in O’Fallon, MO.  She continues to perform as a soloist for many area churches and ensembles including the Bach Society of St. Louis, Masterworks Chorale, and the Missouri Baptist University Chorale.  A native of Florissant, MO, Melissa now resides with her husband, Ryan in St. Charles and is a voice student of John Stewart.
